The Priest directed by debutant director Jofin T Chacko had tremendous opening on Day 1. Movie starring Mammootty,Baby Monica,Manju Warrier & Nikhila Vimal opened to positive response. Movie is produced by Anto Joseph and B Unnikrishnan.
Movie which opened in 320 screens in morning got increased to 370 screens after getting positive reviews. Many theatres added extra shows/screens for Evening shows and Night shows replacing other movies. Movie completed 1372 shows on First Day itself.

Movie which had tremendous occupancy (strictly following 50% seating restrictions due to pandemic) had 95% opening across the state.
Malabar Region reported 98% occupancy While Travancore Region reported 91% occupancy. Central Region grossed than other two regions with 97% occupancy. Movie also reported 838 Housefull shows out of total 1372 shows.
